Pick one moment during which you felt most alive this year. Describe it in vivid detail.
I've got two moments. (Sorry for not conforming)
1. Returning to the island.
Walking barefoot all day, every day. Feeling the dirt and heat underneath my feat.
Listening to my own breath under water, in and out – in and out. Getting lost in the beautiful hidden world that lies beneath the surface. Calming down among the fish. Realising the relativity of everything.
The crackling sounds. The soft water. The weightlessness. The feeling of depth on your lungs. The colours of the fish and the corals tickling your eyes.
The wind and sun in my face on the boat, the salt in my hair and on my skin.
I cannot feel more alive than when I walk barefoot and breathe underwater. (I'm a certified professional barefoot walker and PADI Scuba Dive Instructor. The second one for real.)
